STIMULUSAND

RESPONSE - Stimulus is anything you see,

hear, touch, smell or taste. - Response is the body’s answer to

a stimulus.

THE SENSES: SIGHT

- The eye is the organ of sight. It is made up of the eyeball, and protected by the eyebraws, eyelids and eyelashes.

THE SENSES: SMELL

- The nose is the organ of smell. The receptors of smell are in the pituitary gland inside the nostrils.

THE SENSES: HEARING

- The ear is the organ of hearing. It has three parts: - The outer ear - The middle ear - The inner ear

THE SENSES:TOUCH AND TASTE

- The skin is the organ of touch. It is made up of three layers: - epidermis, dermis and

hypodermis. - The tongue is the organ of taste. The receptors of taste are in the

taste buds

THE NERVOUS SYSTEM - The nervous system is made up of

nerve centers and nerves. The central nervous system: The brain : is inside the skull. It is

made up of the cerebrum, cerebellum and the brain stem.

The spinal cord : is made up of many neurons .

THE SKELETON

- The skeleton is made up of all the bones in the body.

It has three parts: - Head bones - Trunk bones - Limb bones

THE MUSCULATURE

-The muculature is the set of muscles in the body.

It has three parts: - Head muscles - Trunk muscles - Limb muscles
