Cross searching medical and other healthcare books and journals on the ProQuest platform

To cross search books and journals, run your search as usual in ProQuest

Results are combined on the “all sources tab, or available separately

To select only books, click on the tab, and then click on the book title or the “link to full text” icon. The book will immediately open in a new browser window.

Alternatively, click on the “Abstract” icon for bibliographic and index information about the book

ProQuest includes full index coverage for all titles. Indexing includes classification codes and National Library of Medicine Medical Subject Headings (MeSH)

To build your search using MeSH, select “subject” from the selection of search fields in the drop down box. A pop up box will appear.

Choose your search term from the MeSH terms and click “add to search”

Your MeSH term is automatically entered in the search box. Continue your search as previously shown.

You can also combine books and journals in ProQuest results management tools. Mark the titles you are interested in.
