Join  Dr.  Robert  M.  Gates,  formerly  the  United  States  Secretary  of  Defense,  Director  of  Central  Intelligence  and  President  of  Texas  A&M  University,  for  an  evening  to  benefit  the  work  of  the  San  Francisco  Bay  Area  Council,  Boy  Scouts  of  America.

Dr.  Gates  has  served  on  the  National  Executive  Board  of  the  Boy  Scouts  of  America  and  has  also  been  President  of  the  National  Eagle  Scout  Association.

He  has  been  awarded  the  Presidential  Medal  of  Freedom,  America’s  highest  civilian  honor,  as  well  as  the  National  Security  Medal,  the  Presidential  Citizens  Medal,  the  National  Distinguished  Service  Medal  —  three  times,  and  the  CIA’s  highest  award,  the  Distinguished  Intelligence  Medal  —  three  times.

He  is  the  author  of  the  memoir,  From  the  Shadows:  The  Ultimate  Insider’s  Story  of  Five  Presidents  and  How  They  Won  the  Cold  War.
