In April, we’ll return for more reading
at Buckner Elementary, and we’ll have
a cookie bake at Gerard House.
Fred Heismeyer said that at the
recent District Conference, the Dis-
trict decided to return unused funds
to the clubs. Our portion is $9225.
We’ll decide soon how to spend that.
President Joe will update us on our
club goals and activities quarterly.
While Terry Wiggers discussed our
Community Service activities, Presi-
dent Joe (middle) and Kim Penning-
ton hid behind the banners.
Terry said that we need one more
volunteer to help at the Lord’s Diner-
South on Oct. 28.
Our turkey dinner delivery is on a
Tuesday, rather than Wednesday. Our
goal is to deliver 80 dinners, which
cost $50 each. A Mixer will follow.
Kim Pennington said you can be a
reading HERO at Buckner Elementary
on Dec. 4. We’ll read to K-2 students.
You’ll be able to preview the books
before you read to the kids. Some of
the Buckner
students don’t
have books at
home so the
school wel-
comes donated
books.
Our annual
Wichita Chil-
dren’s Home
Christmas tree
decoration day is Sat., Dec. 5. The kids
can give the trees as gifts or keep the
trees to decorate their room.
We’ll help at the Lord’s Diner-
Downtown on Feb. 18.
In March, we have a Wichita Children’s
Home dinner party.

Past President Chris
Kibler (pictured R)
said she can’t get
Garth Brooks tickets
for you, however, you
can purchase tickets
on-line. Garth will
perform in the Intrust
Bank Arena, where
Chris works as the
Assistant General
Manager/Director of
Finance, on at least Dec. 4 and 5,
though Garth is known for adding
shows when the tickets are quickly
sold. “He requires a heavy clearance
window,” Chris said of Garth. “We
can’t schedule anything else
around it.”
Chris said she’s received
numerous ticket requests
from many who claim to be
her best friend. Also, the Are-
na has had to add staff to
accommodate the overwhelm-
ing demand for Tickets by
Garth.

Terry Wiggers, a fan of all things
Kansas State, will attend the KSU-
Texas football game on Oct. 24 in
Austin. “We’re going to spend a long

Wendy will also visit family in the area
