RFP‐CONSTRUCTION MANAGEMENT AND INSPECTION SERVICES

ADDENDUM NO. 3

June 10, 2015

The following Responses to Questions are being made available to clarify and/or correct statements made in the RFP.

QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS

1. Is there forms we need to fill out for the subcontractors or consultants?

There are no specific forms to fill out. Do include a list of subcontractors or subconsultants who will be providing services under your proposal.

2. In a separate email earlier today, I asked about soils inspection/compaction. Does this proposal/project include observation and testing of the soil beneath the mat foundation? Or does the city have another method for covering this work? Is there any chance the Geotechnical report could be provided in the bid documents? It would be helpful if this project includes soil work. This RFP will not include soil inspection. The Geotechnical Report is being made available at the end of this document.

3. The Structural Drawings (S0.01 – Foundation Paragraph 9) discuss foundation and the Geotechnical report. Do you have a copy of that that can be provided? Does this contract include soil compaction? The Geotechnical Report is being made available at the end of this document. If there is specialty inspection required to assure that the project is completed according to the construction plans, specifications and documents, we encourage the proponent to make a recommendation as to the best way to obtain the services, either through the City or for the consultant to obtain the services and bill the City, etc.

4. OK that clears up building inspection but the question still stands on Deputy Inspection and

Materials Testing.  Is the City going to contract for those services directly?  The RFP states on

pages 9 and 10 under item 15 that the “field testing shall be observed” and “results of

independent testing reviewed”.

We do require the consultant to provide quality assurance over the materials used for construction to ensure conformance to specification requirements. In your proposal, do address how to best handle specialty testing, mill test, materials testing, compaction, etc. that may be required to meet quality assurance for building construction.
