Now listen to the following questions. Let’s discuss how we should answer these questions:

How do you like your steak cooked?

Salad Dressing

• Sauces for salads are often called "dressings". The concept of salad dressing varies across cultures.

Types of dressings• Blue Cheese dressing:

•Caesar Dressing

•Italian Dressing

Now Let’s Practice What We’ve Learned!

• Listen to the following conversation and choose how the guest made the order by finishing handout 1 !

Sundae!

• The sundae is an ice cream dessert. It typically consists of a scoop of ice cream topped with sauce or syrup, and in some cases other toppings including chopped nuts, whipped cream, or cherries.

What can we see on a menu?

• Appetizers: Some one-bite food before the main course.

• Entree: the main course

• Side dishes: food used with the main course such as French fries, rice or salad.

• Drinks: Soda/pop, wine, water…

• Dessert: something sweet after the main course

Tipping Tips• If you used any coupons or discounts,

calculate the tip based on how much you would've paid without it.

• Tip based on the pretax amount

• Determine the tip. The general guideline is 20% for excellent service, 15% for solid service, and 10% for bad service. On average, people tip 18%.

• Pay with cash if you can.

Now, let’s play!
