DESCRIPTION

This session addressed what we can longer and better. Eight building blocks to achieve resilience in later life, supported by research, will be discussed. Additionally, specific issues and opportunities for women were discussed, with particular focus on women who love or have loved their work or career. Several tips to achieve that resilience and a "good old age" were also shared.

• Average weight loss – 2 pounds

• 2/3 locally owned restaurants added “life extending” food to their menus.

• Consumption of vegetables increased

• Rate of depression decreased

• 20% reduction in absenteeism for key employers

• City employees – 49% decrease in health care costs
