Professional Growth The product is scored holistically. Components are not scored separately. Score reported as “Renewed” or “Not Renewed”.

National Board Certification

Portfolio Separate entries that receive separate scores. Opportunity to bank scores and retake entries to meet minimum score requirement for certification.

What is a PGE?Let’s see what you already

know about PGEs

Professional Growth Experiences

A PGE is a one-time workshop.

A PGE must evolve.

A PGE can begin before NBPTS certification.

PGE may be reported with unlimited documentation.

PGE must show indirect or direct impact on student learning.

A PGE demonstrates your on-going commitment or contribution to the profession.

PGEs should be multi-faceted.

You cannot write about a PGE if you are no longer in the classroom.

PGEs must demonstrate continued application of current National Board standards.
