Proverbs 27:7 The full soul loatheth an honeycomb; but

to the hungry soul every bitter thing is sweet.

Those who have too much don’t

appreciated what they have.

People’s minds are so

filled with worldly

entertainment that they

have no appetite for the

spiritual.

3

Preaching and teaching of

God’s Word the Bible is just

not appealing, because their

minds are filled with junk.

8 As a bird that wandereth from her nest, so is a

man that wandereth from his place.

This verse may speak against a person abandoning

his responsibilities at home along with its comforts.

Just as a bird wandering from its nest too early or

too far brings hardship on itself, so a young person

leaving home too soon may find himself unable to

care for himself. The Bible Knowledge Commentary: An Exposition of the Scriptures by Dallas Seminary Faculty.

More importantly, we must be always

where God has placed us in life.

And be doing what God has called you to do.

Be the best worker you can be.

Be the best mate or parent.

Be the best church member you can be.

7

9 Ointment and perfume rejoice the heart: so doth

the sweetness of a man's friend by hearty counsel.

Sound advice based upon the Bible will

bless us and make us happy, if we heed.

Most people don’t care enough to pray and

seek God’s Will for someone.

A true friend will have sound counsel.

8

10 Thine own friend, and thy father's friend, forsake

not; neither go into thy brother's house in the day

of thy calamity: for better is a neighbor that is near

than a brother far off.

Maintain old friendships; even those

your daddy had.

It’s a lot of work to maintain a friendship; it will

fall by the wayside if we don’t do the work.

11 My son, be wise, and make my heart glad, that I

may answer him that reproacheth me.

The good conduct of Christians is the best answer

to all who find fault with the Gospel.Matthew Henry Concise Bible Commentary.

A good son or daughter making godly choices

will make the heart of any parent glad.

If the ungodly say bad things about

us, force them to lie.

11

12 A prudent man foreseeth the evil, and hideth

himself;

Trouble comes into every life, but it is better

dealt with when we make preparation.

12

12b but the simple pass on, and are punished.

The simple make no preparations.

They live for right now.

And there are those who bring trouble into

their own lives by the way they live.

They never expect consequences.

13

Sin brings nothing but bad

consequences.
