Principal’s News Tuesday 10 September 2019
Only 15 more days to the first performance of Broulee on the Box and the excitement is growing.
Rehearsals have been increasing with classes practising coming on and off the stage for their
acts and our big finale. I had the opportunity to watch some of our lead actors running their
lines last week and I was impressed with the quality of their performances. Stay tuned for notes
and messages from your child’s class as we launch into our final preparations for the big event.
Congratulations to our Aussie Rules and basketball teams on their performances this year.
Unfortunately they were all knocked out of the PSSA competitions last week but they should be
very proud of their efforts to get as far as they have. A big thank you to all the parents who
supported the teams and provided transport during their campaign. Thank you also to Mrs Jones
and Mr Enright for their organisation and expert coaching. We still have one team in the PSSA
knockout competitions - our girl’s netball team are waiting on results from other schools to find
their next opponent.
Thank you to those people who are ensuring their children enter and exit the school in the
correct manner. As mentioned in last week’s Scoop, keeping them out of the school carpark and
walking their bikes once in school are important safety messages. We appreciate your support in
this.
It has been noticeable how many students have not been wearing our red school hoodie lately.
We also have a growing number of hoodies in the lost property boxes. If your child is missing
their red school hoodie, please have them check the lost property for it so they can be in school
uniform every day.
Thought for the week:
With the upcoming Broulee on the Box, I thought
this quote about dealing with any nerves children
might have about preforming was both geographic
and time appropriate. Bring on the rehearsals.
This Thursday’s assembly at 1.40 pm will be led by 2S. All families are welcome to attend. Matthew Rose Principal

Broulee on the Box – Details for Parents/Carers
Below is important information regarding the process for the
Wednesday and Thursday evening performances
On the night of your child’s performance (It is expected that your child attends
the evening performances for their night)
5:20-5:40pm: students to be taken to their classroom. Parents please see the
teacher and sign your child in.
If your child is in the choir, he/she needs to be signed in at their own classroom.
They then go to Mrs Fairweather and Miss Mulcahy in the iCentre to get ready
for the opening number. After the choir has performed, they will go to their own
classroom and remain there for the rest of the performance.
Students need to remain in the classroom with their teacher throughout the
entire performance, except for when they are on stage.
At the expected completion of the concert, approximately 7:50 – 8:00 pm, the
time to be more accurately given next week: Students are to be picked up from
their classroom. Students are not to be picked up from the hall. Parents please
see the teacher and sign your child out.
If you wish someone else to collect your child at the end of the night, please
advise the office prior to the concert.
If you are not attending the night time performance, your child is still needed for
the performance. If this is not possible, please contact your child's teacher.
We look forward to having all students attend the concert for their night and to see
you all enjoy one of the performances.
There are still tickets available for the show. You may now purchase extra tickets for
your family from the ticketing website, why not invite some relatives to the matinee?

Stage 2 Sophie
Stage 3 Katie
Next week Stages 2 and 3 will participate
in free cricket gala days at Captain Oldrey
Park. The Stage 2 Gala Day is on Monday
16 September and the Stage 3 Gala Day is
on Tuesday 17 September. Both days start
at 11:40am and go through until the end of
the day. Students should wear sports
uniform and a wide-brimmed hat on their
designated day. They should also wear
sunscreen and bring a refillable drink
bottle. These days are highly inclusive with
all students involved the whole time and students have really enjoyed
them in the past. If you have any questions, please see your child's
teacher.
Enviro-Ted will spend
the week in 2F this
week after their
allocated area was
judged the cleanest by
the Enviro-Warriors.
Great Work 2F!
Broulee PS Father’s Day Breakfast
What a great Father’s Day Breakfast morning it turned out to be. There
were lots of smiling children proudly attending the breakfast with their
dad and/or grandad. All the helpers preparing and serving and also the
lads on the BBQ’s did a great job feeding a big crowd. The Moruya High
School Prefects deserve big thanks for their volunteering. A large
amount of the food and materials were donated by local businesses or
supplied at cost to help make it a great breakfast. Thanks to IGA, Tilba
Milk, Les Gourmandises, Funnells Meats, Broulee Supermarket, Woolies
Moruya and Clyde River Berry Farm for their support.
Check out the photos below to see if there is one of you.
