We the Caucuses and Arms of the People’s United Party (PUP) express our unequivocalsupport for the Honourable Francis Fonseca, leader of the People’s United Party, in the battleto restore integrity to the democratic and electoral processes through the filing of electionpetitions. It is our belief that these petitions filed by the PUP are the result of clear infractionsin the electoral process by representatives of the United Democratic Party (UDP). Any suchinfraction is an attack on the people and an attack on our democracy and cannot be toleratedin any instance.

In a nonsensical response to the petitions filed by the PUP, the UDP has taken the decision tofile their own petition against the Honourable Francis Fonseca in Supreme Court Claim #195of 2012. The UDP has produced five (5) of their loyal supporters who claim that they wereallegedly bribed by Freetown D i v i s i o n operatives to vote for the Hon. Fonseca.

Together we wish to state categorically that we consider the allegation unfounded and basedon nothing more than political mischief and malice. Furthermore, we are confident that afterdue consideration, the Court will find it so. We stand in support of the Party Leader as herises to defend the integrity of his clear victory in the Freetown Division on March 7th aswell as the integrity of those individuals who have come under attack by the UDP for theirloyalty to our great Party.
