be greater than the distance from the centre to the poles.

When the height of the object from the earth increases, the force of attraction of the earth on an object increases
According to Newton's
second law of motion , when
the force is applied on an
object there will be an
acceleration on the object.
Hence the effective force of attraction on it will be zero
Acceleration due to gravity when the earth exerts a force on the object , the acceleration experienced by the object is the acceleration due to gravity
