Objective of the Study:---

This project is a study on how the loans are given to the customers of the bank. It studies the procedures, rules and regulations followed and what all documents, details and verifications are required by the bank from their customers to grant them loans.

Limitations The main limitation of this project is that

there were a lot of data. The bank has granted about more than 100 loans to SMEs in and around Jamshedpur region so

studying all the files was not possible for me.

In India SME is the largest provider of employment after Agriculture.

It accounts to about 95% of industrial and about 40% of all industrial output.

Bank of Baroda is the 3rd largest bank in India after State Bank of India and Punjab National Bank.

It was started by Honorable Maharaja of Baroda Sir Sayajirao III on July 20th 1908 in the princely state of Gujarat.

It was nationalized on 19th July 1969. Currently it has 3000 branches and 11000+

ATMs all over India. It has total assets in excess of Rs. 2,274

billion.

There are about 9 branches of BoB in Jamshedpur with its Main Branch in Bistupur.

The chief manager of the main branch is Mr. R.N. Chatterjee.

This branch maintains a Treasury Chest, the branch has a Forex department and a SME Loan Factory among other features.

Currently the AGM is Mr. Karla.

StrengthsIndustrial activity in the state of Jharkhand is scattered in the entire state such as in districts of Ranchi, Ramgarh, Hazaribagh, giridigh etc. where we have our presence and our branches can generate leads.

WeaknessIt has been experienced that most of the walk in leads have been cold leads

OpportunitiesLot of industrial activity is going on in the state of Jharkhand due to the presence of abundant raw materials i.e. iron ore & coal.Jamshedpur is the hub of industrial activity in the state. All the downstream industries of Tata Steel and ancillaries of Telco are situated in and around JSR

ThreatsVarious legislations are coming in the way of customers in meeting out the requirements of collateral securities.Telco has around 400 ancillary units. All these units are enjoying Bill Drawing Arrangements with SBI and Canara Bank as per pre-arrangements. We are yet to tap sizeable business.

The basic problem that the bank is facing is that people are not aware about the SME Loan Factory in Bank of Baroda. So

More Awareness about the bank

and its products should be created.

More promotion.
