Symptomatic stones during pregnancy occur
at a rate of 1/250 to 1/3000 pregnant women
White women > African american women
The majority of symptomatic stones occur in the second and thrid trimesters of pregnancy
symptoms
Up to %25 of women are misdiagnosed with appendicitis, diverticulitis or placenental abruption
importance
increased risk of premature rupture of membranes in association with stone passage although most stones pass spontaneously and complications are rare
