Hermen M. Hutabarat – brief infoHermen is Vice CHAIRMAN of GPDLI, as one of the founders, he already have been giving our organisation a lot of inputs to progress GPDLI forefront. Some vision appears in the VISION that we have today, Hermen not the type of leader who likes to complain, but he always working vigorously although sometimes he often experiencing difficulty, but Mr. Hermen never complained, very remarkable spirit transforming by Mr. Hermen to us. Leprosy community in Sitanala also feel very close in the heart of the Father of two children.Hermen already lived in the village of leprosy for many years, but he prefers to live outside the leprosy village. Rarely someone like him, Hermen never feel stigmatized anymore by anyone and himself. There are many discrimination faced by him, but Mr. Hermen keep have the spirit and never take a revenge for the people who bullied him since many years ago, he is a man with a courage heart and have an integrity!!!www.pedulisisabilitas.org

CBR MATRIX – Ms Maya Thomas -2 Refer to CBR Matrix issues, other than Livelihood, Social and Empowerement, we are also developing, in Health issues: we helped to assist people affected by leprosy with Protese (86 People); facilitating Jakarta Municipal Governor Office with Binus University and Health Centre for detected leprosy symptom in The Jakarta Governor Office for about 5000 staffs and people who work in this office.

Develop small groups around 50 people (10 groups), trained people for livelihood and entrepreneurship: 108 people in this 3 years, educate the children of people affected by leprosy around 65 students (after they back from school) especially for the subjects of english, mathematics, physics, etc., and thousands people in university, campuses, schools for disability and leprosy issues.

LEPROSY – statistics.According to Health Ministry data, Indonesia has reached the stage of elimination of leprosy. Since about five years ago, said Tjandra, the number of leprosy patients in Indonesia is less than one person per 10 thousand citizens. The regions with the highest number of new cases of leprosy are East Java. In this province, in 2011 there were 4,142 new cases of leprosy, while the number of patients with previous years as many as 4,653 people. Every year an average of more than 18 thousand new cases of leprosy in Indonesia.

Indonesia - Leprosy statistics compared to Global situation !JUM'AT, 27 JANUARI 2012 | 17:20 WIBTEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesia is the third-largest number of leprosy cases in the world. "The order we are third after India and Brazil," said Kasubid Disease Control Ministry of Health, Dr. Christina Widaningrum, at a press conference at the Ministry of Health, Jakarta, Friday, January 27, 2012. Data 2010 World Health Organization declared there were 17 012 cases of leprosy in Indonesia. While India, the first position, had 126 800 cases. As in Brazil there are 34 894 cases of leprosy.

Leprosy statistics - 1 Christina said in Indonesia the most cases in East Java

as many as 4,653 cases. Being second in West Java (1,749 cases) and Central Java third (1,740 cases). The Ministry of Health will take some action in 2012. One of the activities is the intensification of the discovery of cases of leprosy in six districts. Christina stated intensification will more be given in the area of East Indonesia. "One will we put Papua, the rest is placed in the eastern region due to expensive cost of tranportasinya," said Christina
