Potato Print Accessories

Prepare your pots Draw your chosen shape straight on to the potato

with a pencil, then cut with a sharp knife.

You will need:

Pre-washed fabric

Potatoes / sharp knife

Fabric paint

Paint brushes

Sewing hoop

Threads

Rubber stamps & ink (optional)

Cover buttons & tool (any size)

Strong adhesive (Araldite or E6000)

Hair accessories (hair bands, bobby pins, slides etc)

Time to get messy! Brush (or stamp) fabric paint on

to the potatoes to print your fabric …

Stitch it! Leave the paint to dry, then put it in a hoop and add some kisses -

Tip: I marked the fabric with four dots so Em knew where to go up and down to make the x’s

… or maybe try some stamping * We used black VersaCraft fabric ink

Now remove the shank from the

button back with a pair of pliers, then

thread some strong cotton (approx

20cm) through the holes before turning them into buttons.

(… leave the thread hanging loose ready for

the next stage)

Stitch the buttons to your head band/hair slides, tie off the ends and add a dab of glue to fix.

All finished and ready to wear!
