We belong to a region called Alentejo,in the south of Portugal.

And the capital district is Évora.(60km from Mourão, our city county )

This is our village Luz!

(7 km from Mourão)

It’s a reborn village with

only 14 years old and it's surrounded by water,

due to the Alqueva dam, the biggest artificial

lake in Europe.

In 2002, 423 people were transferred to the new

houses.In 2012, there were 297 residents and about 100 houses are unocupeid.

The old village was destroyed and submerged, due to rising waters.
