1. INTRODUCTIONPort Esbjerg have a key location in context to Danish export for the agricultural and food industry and servicing the offshore energy markets. This depicts the Port, as an important node in the network, where the companies using the port jointly can evolve and prosper together with the possibilities this unique location provide.

The port is also located in vicinity of the Wadden Sea, which is on the largest unbroken system of intertidal sand and muds flats in the world. The Wadden Sea is on the UNESCO heritage list and this commits us to operate the port with outmost consideration to the environment. Conversely, the port is the working place for around 10.000 people and hence integral in the Energy Metropol, which is the City of Esbjerg.

2 ARRIVAL PROCEDUREAt least 24 hours before arrival an “Arrival Notification” must be filled out: www.portesbjerg.dk/en/maritime-info/arrival-notification

Call Port Esbjerg 2 hours before arrival Graadyb fairway buoy on VHF CH 12. Call again when passing buoys 1 – 2 and 13 – 14.

Special attention if ship moored at “Atlantkaj” 709. Pass with slow speed.

3. DEPARTURE PROCEDURECall Port Esbjerg on VHF CH 12 fifteen (15) minutes before departure.

Call Port Esbjerg before departure and receive traffic information/instruction. Call Port Esbjerg when passing buoys 13 – 14 and 1 -2.

Special attention if ship moored at “Atlantkaj” 709. Pass with slow speed.

4. PILOTAGEPilot boarding position, Esbjerg: 55° 24,6’ N 08° 11,7’ E In case of rough weather, the pilot will board inside Buoy No. 7.

The distance from pilot boarding position to the port is abt. 10 nm.

11. GARBAGE & RECYCLINGGarbage is collected on request via Port Esbjerg. Port Esbjerg has garbage containers in different sizes - 20 m3 and 770 liters. Yellow containers are placed more places and can be used for waste MARPOL Annex 5 garbage B-C-E-G. For special waste (etc. oil filters/rags) and big amount of metal scrap contact Port Esbjerg.

At pier 813 and 004 garbage stations (yellow containers) are located with different garbage containers inside also for recycling.

12. ISPS AND SECURITYPort Esbjerg fulfills the requirements in IMO ISPS code and the regulations by the EU. Port ID-number is 10685 and the IMO UN locator code is DKEBJ. Port Esbjerg has 8 port facilities with approved Port Facility Security Plans.

13. AREA RENTALPort Esbjerg rents out desirable areas nearby quays and hinterland areas. The port is flexible and offers its customers various models for renting areas and facilities. The areas at Port Esbjerg contains all facilities which is necessary for efficient and professionals solutions within Oil &Gas, Wind energy project cargo and intermodal transport. Amongst others the port has at its disposal 10 RO/RO ramps and 5 mobile cranes.

The areas can be rented on basis of day, long term and project based.

16. HINTERLAND CONNECTIONSHinterland connections Port Esbjerg is connected to the European motorway system with motorway E20 which ends at Port Esbjerg. Railway tracks connects Port Esbjerg to the rest of Europe. The track ends at the Combi Terminal with a double track. 17. BREAK BULK CARGOESBreak Bulk Cargoes Port Esbjerg can handle all kinds of break bulk. Mobile cranes with lifting capacity to 308 tons, forklifts up to 45 tons and reach stackers up to 152 tons are available. 18. WIND TURBINE COMPONENTSPort Esbjerg is shipping around 1200 complete turbines per year. The port has large-scale areas both nearby quay and hinterland areas developed for all wind turbine components. 23. OFFSHORE WIND BASE SERVICESeveral Offshore Windfarms are maintained with Port Esbjerg as base. Port Esbjerg offers base facilities for both CTV’s and SOV’s.

24. OIL & GAS BASE SERVICEPort Esbjerg is base for all Danish oil- and gas fields. Other oil- and gas fields in the North Sea is serviced from Port Esbjerg with chemicals etc. A heliport serving North Sea oil- and gas fields is situated at Esbjerg Airport 8 kilometers from Port Esbjerg.

25. JACK UPPort Esbjerg offers various quays for jacking of installation vessels, rigs and barges. Permission must always be obtained from Port Esbjerg prior to jacking.
