Manual overrides
a Avoid using a pencil or other instrument that will leave marks on the valves. Do not use an instrument with a sharp point that could damage the valves. Do not use the probe of a multimeter as the wire connected to the probe could dangle on the workstation and be caught in an actuator.

a When one solenoid on a double solenoid valve is energized, the manual overrides on that valve have no effect.
If this prevents you from identifying the valve using the manual overrides, refer to your answer to the questions in Step 7.

Troubleshooting
a As a systems operator, you should be able to localize malfunctions and identify their causes and sources. In some cases, you will be able to fix the malfunction yourself. In many cases, however, you will be required to document the malfunctions and pass this information onto the appropriate experts for resolution. Be as precise as possible in describing the problem. Refer to all components using the correct names and device tags as shown in the system plans.
