The DRS Consolidated Controls PLμS 32™ DistributedControl System provides a complete spectrum of functionsfor Class 1E and non 1E safety systems including loopcontrol, logic, analog and sequential control, and dataacquisition and management. DRS PLμS 32™ distributedcontrol systems have logged over a million hours of safetycritical plant operations above and beyond the 500,000,000hours logged by prior Consolidated Controls systems. Thehighly modular PLμS 32™ architecture provides solutionsranging from single plant subsystem control to completeBalance of Plant (BOP) applications.
PLμS 32™ is based upon a fault-tolerant architecturefeaturing PERFORM Net™ that provides redundancy for alldata paths and a dedicated microprocessor for each controlloop. The system can be configured to be highly distributedwith I/O and control functions located in the field, or highlycentralized with all I/O and control functions located in onearea without degradation in performance.
The PLμS 32™ system provides operator interfaces rangingfrom traditional push buttons, indicators, and auto/manualstations to a state of the art safety related Video Display Unit(VDU) providing select and confirm touch screen control for allplant operations. Designed for the most demanding seismicand environmental conditions and built with precise redundantand deterministic processing and communications, PLμS 32™delivers demonstrated reliability suited for all critical controlsystems.
