Blue-green stiff leaves folding shut near base, purple flowers, stamensblack with orange base, 50-80 cm tall, spring and early summer

PussytailPtilotus spathulatus

Stems run along the ground from a central group of leaves and rise atthe end, flowers have five hard petals, grouped in clusters, covered inlong, soft yellow hairs in winter through to summer

Silky riceflowerPimelea micrantha

Erect shrub to 50 cm high, covered in fine white hairs, flowers yellow and inclusters, late spring and summer

Spear grass

A tufted perennial, 50-100 cm high, spikelets have a single floret which isoften purplish with a long wispy tail, spring to summer
