1. WHAT DO PLANTS NEED TO LIVE?

• Plants are living things. They are born, they grow, they reproduce and they die. To live plants need water, minerals, sunlight and die.

2. WHAT ARE THE PARTS OF PLANTS?

• Most plants have three parts: roots, a stem and leaves. Many plants also have flowers and fruits.

• A plant can be a tree, a bush or a grass, depending on its type of stem.

3.WHAT ARE THE DIFFERENT TYPES OF PLANTS?

• New plants grow from seeds. The seeds are inside the fruit. Some fruits have many seeds and other fruits have one seed.

• Plants adapt to the light, the water, the air and the soil in their environment.

6. WHY ARE PLANTS ESSENTIAL FOR LIFE?

• Plants put oxygen into the air that we breathe. They provide food for all living things. They also give us wood, fabric, paper, cork, resin, perfume and medicine.
