• Digit- A symbol used to make numerals.– 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 and 9 are the ten

digits we use in everyday numbers.• Example: the numeral 153 is made up of 3

digits ("1", "5" and "3").

Vocabulary

• Place Value: Where the digit sits in the number, such as units, tens, hundreds, etc.

• Example: in 352, the place value of the 5 is "tens"

Vocabulary

• Value- How much the digit is worth based on the place value.– Example- in 352, the value of the 5 is 50
