LIST OF COMMAND WORDS
1. Define ( Takrifkan )
This means you are only required towrite a concise statement to say
what something is or means.2. What do you understand by
( Apakah yang difahamkandengan )
This means a definition plus acomment on the context orsignificance of the term.

3. State (Nyatakan )
This means a short, concise
answer is expected, without
explanation.
4. List (Senaraikan )
This means you are to give anumber of points in a list. Each
point might only be a single word
or a short phrase or sentence.
5. Explain ( Terangkan/Jelaskan )
This usually means some
reference to physics theory

6. Describe ( Huraikan )
This means you are to state the
main points in words, together with
a diagram, if appropriate.
7. Discuss (Bincangkan )
This means give a critical accountof the points in a topic. This might
include giving positive and
negative points.
8. Outline (Rangkakan )
This means give a brief answer,
mentioning only the main points.

9. Predict or deduce ( Ramalkan )This means you are to deduce an answer frominformation in the question or from earlier answers. Itmeans you are not expected to produce an answerfrom memory.
10. Suggest (Cadangkan )Very often this type of question looks as if it is not inthe syllabus. But suggests means you are notexpected to know the correct answer. You aresupposed to make a logical deduction from theinformation given in the question or from your physicsknowledge. Your answer may not be true, but it iscorrect if what you say is sensible from what you mightreasonably be expected to know.
11. Find ( Kirakan )This generally means calculate, measure, determine
etc.
12. Calculate ( Hitungkan )This means a numerical answer is expected and theworking is expected to be shown.

13. Determine (Tentukan)This usually means the answer cannotbe measured directly but is obtained bycalculation or perhaps, by taking areading from a graph. Normally anumerical answer is expected
14. Estimate ( Anggarkan)
This means obtain an answer asaccurately as you can, although it maynot be exact.
15. Sketch (Lakarkan )
This is often applied to graph. It meansthat only the correct shape andapproximate position of the graph isexpected. It might mean you need to addone or two numbers to make the positionclear

COMMON MISTAKES
Answer correct, but no unit given tocalculated value. Advice: make sure to
write down the units. Name of scientists. e.g : Archimedes,
accept close answers, sound similarwhen read.
E.c.f , accept wrong calculated value in
earlier part .Penalize once only , correctmethod used is awarded marks.
Key words / dont need completesentences.
Number of decimal places in final
answers. At least 1 d.p., 2, 3, 4, , but nottoo many. Dont round up to wholenumber.
Very often, dont accept contra answers.E.g:..Voltmeter/ammeter

Units not consistent. No marks.
In essay. Marks are given according topoints given. 1 point, 1 mark.
Write answers based on observations, cannot include physics that you cannot see.
Differences between Section B and SectionC.
Section C : Have to analyse datas in tableform/ many diagrams of same instrumentsbut different features. Ask to select onedevice with supporting information, mustchoose one device.
Section B: Definition, Conccptualizequestion (mengkonsepsikan) usually from
2 diagrams, explanation of an event, describe an instrument, application ofknowledge.
Section C: Definition, explanation of anevent, graph. Table containing
data/diagrams., make a choice.

WORD OF ADVICE DO READ THE QUESTIONS CAREFULLY
MUST ANSWER QUESTION 1 AND 2, MUSTWRITE TABLE AND GRAPH. YOU WILL
DEFINITELY GET MARKS.
DONT SIMPLY ADD TOO MANY DECIMAL
PLACES IN ANSWERS ESPECIALLY QUESTION
1, MUST LOOK AT THE SENSITIVITY OF THEAPPARATUS USED
DONT FORGET TO CHECK THE GRAPH AND
MAKE SURE IT IS COMPLETE
DONT FORGET TO LABEL YOUR DIAGRAM
IF YOU HAVE EXTRA TIME, EVEN AFTER YOUHAVE CHECK YOUR ANSWERS TWICE, DONT
SLEEPTRY TO ANSWER THE OTHER
QUESTION IN SECTION B.
AND GOOD LUCK!!!!!!!!
