DESCRIPTION

Michael North's November 2013 presentation to the Bay Area Consultants Network (BACN) about the three kinds of intelligence: thinking, feeling, and acting. Everyone has a dominant type of intelligence, though we each use all three.

TRANSCRIPT

How your emotions, intellect and activity all work together to process your life

That you have three types of intelligence

One is always in charge

Which type is initially in charge for you

How that can help you communicate better

We all think

We all act

We all feel

We all assume that we all process information or stimulation the same way.

We don’t.

Some people start by looking for similar patterns from their past.

Others sense as deeply as they can what is going on right now.

The rest only worry about their next action.

It was a close basketball game.

There were 2:00 left to go.

Then a tornado hits the building

Let’s just share what just happened…

Look at others to gauge what is going on.

Head for the exit !

Study the building to see if it is ready to collapse.

How many people used their frames of reference?

Who tried to understand the uniqueness of the situation?

Who just wanted to get the heck out of there?

Frames of reference people are called intellectually centered

Perception guided people are emotionally centered

Action orientation means you are moving centered

After you evaluate an event, you then shift to letting another intelligence control processing.

You then use the final type to control how you resolve the situation.

So you are pre-wired to be agile.
