School Canteen and Uniform Shop News
Our School Canteen and Uniform Shop will be closed during Lockdown. We are sorry for any
inconvenience this may cause our families. Once things are back to normal, hours will be
as usual. Thank you for your patience.
From the Principal’s Desk Learning From Home and Attendance What an incredible two weeks it has been and we cannot thank our school community enough for the way they have supported and embraced the period of Learning From Home. Over 95% of our students have collected their student learning packs which is an enormous increase on the Learning From Home period in 2020. Please remember that student attendance is marked according to the learning packs being returned and evidence of students having engaged in the learning. We know it is a difficult time and all we ask is that our parents do the best they can under the circumstances. At this stage, we are still awaiting advice on the continuation or easing of the Level 4 restrictions that are currently in place. We will communicate this with everyone as soon as possible. Excursion Surveys (Years 3 - 6) Earlier this week we posted a copy of the Excursion Survey for Years 3-6 parents on our Facebook page and on the SkoolBag application. If parents could please complete the survey to assist us in making a final decision about our Years 3-6 excursions which are set to take place at the beginning of Term 4. The final decision will be made by the end of Week 8 and will be based on current Department of Education/NSW Health COVID guidelines, parent survey responses and staff/student wellbeing. NAPLAN Online School Readiness In 2022, all schools throughout NSW will transition to NAPLAN Online. Our Year 3 and Year 5 students are scheduled to participate in NAPLAN Online School Readiness Testing (SRT) in Week 8 this term but this may be impacted by the current Learning From Home period. We will endeavour to keep our families informed of any changes to the implementation of the SRT. COVID at Home Learning Thanks to the families that have sent photos to us showing what is happening during the period of Learning from Home. It is wonderful to see our students being engaged with their learning both at home and in school. Thanks also to our wonderful parents who are helping our students and our teachers who are working tirelessly to make sure our students have work to complete.
Parent advice of requirement for COVID-19 test for your child
Please remember students and staff with flu-like symptoms will need to be tested and return a negative COVID-19 test result and be symptom-free before being permitted to return to school.
Students who do not undertake a COVID-19 test will not be permitted to return to school for a 10-day period. Additionally, they must be symptom-free for at least 3 days prior to returning to school.
Students who have seasonal allergic rhinitis or another condition that presents similarly to flu-like symptoms are still required to get tested for COVID-19 and return a negative test result. Where their symptoms continue beyond 10 days, students should provide documentation from their GP confirming their symptoms are typical for their condition. If the student develops new or changed symptoms, they should get tested for COVID-19. Find more information about COVID-19 symptoms External link.
