DOUBLE YOUR TITHE SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 29 Extra giving to help offset the summer expenses of air conditioner unit replacements and repairs.
“I want each of you to take plenty of time to think it over, and make up your own mind what you will give. That
will protect you against sob stories and arm-twisting. God loves it when the giver delights in the giving. God
can pour on the blessings in astonishing ways so that you’re ready for anything and everything, more than just
ready to do what needs to be done.”
The Message Bible, 2 Corinthians 9:7-8
Welcome
Trahan Family
Flight 3:16
Follow the journey of Bobby, Sean and Katie who are excited about the events they have planned.
Watch how suddenly life can change and how the word “whosoever” in John 3:16 becomes
relevant in your life.
“For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him
should not perish, but have everlasting life.” John 3:15 KJV
Dear Pinecrest Friends,
Preparations for Judgement House 2013 is underway with this year’s theme being Flight 3:16. This is the fifth year of the
Judgement House event with thousands having experienced a soul searching story and hundreds coming to know Christ as their personal Savior. Judgement House, which is a national ministry, is designed for the purpose of preparing people for the life hereafter. The Bible teaches about different judgments. Hebrews 9:27 states, “it is appointed for men to die once, but after this the judgement”. Every person needs to give some serious thought about standing before God the Judge. While God is a God of love and mercy, He also is a God of justice and what He says about eternal life in hell is just as much the truth as eternal death in heaven. The Bible says, “the Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance.” (2 Peter 3:9) The goal of every Judgement House event is to help people be prepared for eternity and know that God has a plan of salvation that either people accept or reject. Our goal is to make it possible for as many people as possible to hear the gospel so they have a chance to receive Christ the One and Only Savior. This year’s story Flight 3:16 is no exception and will clearly present God’s plan so that we can be prepared for the Judgment.
The Bible also teaches that there is a Judgment for the believers and that judgment is based on our obedience to His will and part of that will is being a witness for the Lord and obeying the Great Commission to go and preach the gospel to everyone.
In preparing ourselves to stand before the Judgment Seat of Christ, we need to be very prayerful, prepared and willing to do our part to present to others the plan of salvation and what better tool than Judgement House Flight 3:16.
Looking forward to seeing you at Judgement House,
Pastor Tom Potter
Greetings:
The new school year has started and students are getting back
into the swing of things for the new year. Many of our students
are starting fresh again this year as freshman. The church has a
big presence over at Wilson High, please pray for the students as
they face daily challenges of peer pressure and gossip. High school
is truly a battleground for a teenager. Many of our students are
involved in different activities this year, playing softball, soccer,
BMX, and many others. On September 25th Christian students all
over the nation took part in “See You At The Pole”. This is a time
where students gather around their flag poles as a stand to say “I
believe in God and his power to change our school and I do not
apologize for my stand”. The students prayed for their classmates and administrators for the school year.
Also, the student ministry has begun a 33 week study on
“The Story”. This study is aimed at getting students to
read their Bibles and learn about the stories in it.
Some of the things that are coming up this
month...on October 12th the students
ministry will be going to Lynchburg, VA to
attend Scaremare. Scaremare is put on by
Liberty University and is a alternative to
traditional celebration of Halloween. The
main objective is to scare people to life.
Tens of thousands come yearly to this
event. The cost is $8 for the students’
ticket. Also, in October here at
Pinecrest, many students are
participating in Judgement House.
Many are playing characters, extras
and behind the scenes people.
October plans to be a very exciting
month.

Work Detail
October 5
9 am to noon
September has been a month of new beginnings in our lives. September
means a new school year, new activities and new ministry year.
AWANA has started back on Sunday nights with many new faces on
the first night. Upward flag football and cheerleading had evaluations,
first practices, and their first three games. The first week of games
was September 14, there was over 100 people watching the three
teams and cheerleaders do their very best.
October is a continuation of a great September. Each Saturday there
will be football games starting at 9:00 am, come out and cheer for everyone. October 6th and
13th, I will be holding baptism classes for any children that feel like they are ready to be
baptized, this will take place in my office during AWANA.
Thursday, October 31st, we will have our annual Trunk or Treat. Trunks will be in the parking lot
and Treats will be everywhere. It will begin at 6:00 and end at 8:00. If you plan on
participating, please have your car parked at 5:30, so when children show up at 6:00 the traffic
will be limited. If you cannot make it to the Trunk or Treat, you can still help. There will be a
collection bin in Pinecrest Hall starting October 6th for donations of candy (individually wrapped).
See you soon,
Pastor Marcus Bridges
Pinecrest has an ongoing food min-
istry with our own pantry headed by
Walter Davis. Also, a food ministry
in partnership with Connie Shoe-
make and Bonnie Walton. Feeding
the hungry is a continued ministry meeting a constant need
throughout the year. Recently, we were given over one
thousand loaves of freshly baked bread to share with several
other food ministries in the area.
