Expectations

We will provide a student handbook that outlines all of the expectations.

We need parents to support their child and encourage them to fully engage in the

learning.

While uniforms are suspended for the school year due to Covid-19, students will

still be expected to follow a dress code.

No specific school supplies needed while virtual. (School supply list will be provided

once face-to-face instruction resumes.

Technology Based Programs/Tutorials

Students who are engaged in daily learning as defined below will be considered PRESENT .

❖ Interaction with teacher via Microsoft Teams as part of live whole or small group instruction

❖ Completion of assignments

Students who have not met at least one of the requirements above by 2:30 pm will be marked ABSENT.

❖ Parents will receive notifications via School Messenger after 6:00pm

❖ Absences may be resolved by 11:59pm by completing an assignment online

State law TEC.25.092 and HISD policy requires students to attend at least 90% of their classes to receive credit and be considered for promotion.

Grading Policy

All students will be on a six-week grading cycle.

Teachers will take two grades per core subjects and one grade for non-core subjects.

Teachers will be recording grades, which will be available for parents and students to access through the HISD Connect Parent Portal.

Teachers will be providing grades and feedback to students to foster growth.

Special Populations

• Students who have an Individual Education Plan (IEP) or a 504 plan will continue to receive virtual accommodations and/or services as designated by their individual plan.

• ARD & 504 Committees will continue to meet virtually when needed.

• Digital Copies of committee content will be provided when needed.
