A revised version of the DAS SW (release 4.8)was issued Nov. 98. This release includedsome corrections of the phase IV data plusseveral improvements of the DAS SW. A newrelease (4.9) is planned for June 99. This willinclude a.o. verification of Y2K com-pliance aswell as some minor modifications. From theOREDA Website it is possible to download andrun a tutorial on DAS.

6XEVHDVRIWZDUHSince release early August 98 several minorimprovements are included. Some of theOREDA companies have applied the new SWin their subsea data collection.

$XWRPDWHGGDWD7UDQVIHU$7This SW has been developed to automate thecollection of data from individual companyCMMSs to the common OREDA database.After testing by Shell, Statoil and SINTEF theADT tool was released in Nov.98 (SW release4.8). Since then several companies have usedthe tool in data collection projects. Shellexperienced 5 times reduction in cost for thecollection of maintenance data and 2 timesreduction for failure data. Similar savings arealso experienced by SINTEF (Chevron). Atutorial on use of the ADT-tool has recentlybeen prepared for the OREDA companies.

7UDLQLQJSURPRWLRQSeveral one-day training courses for theOREDA users have been run by SINTEF(topside + subsea). Viewgraphs giving anoverview of the OREDA project is available onthe OREDA Web-site (Powerpoint). OREDAhas been registered as Domain Name onInternet. A Paper describing the ADT activitywill be jointly presented by SINTEF, Shell andCambridge Database Technologies at an inter-national conference in Munich (ESREL) inSept.99.

25($DWD+DQGERRNEdition no. 3 of the OREDA Handbook withreliability data from Phase III was issued early98. Currently >300 copies have been sold.
