Creating an Online Assignment in the Gradebook

An Online Assignment can be created in the Gradebook by clicking on Add Assignment in

the Assignments tab.

There are five options when creating an Online Assignment:

• Create Online Assignment – This option allows you to create the questions for the

Online Assignment. You can choose either Multiple Choice, True/False, Matching,

Short Answer or Essay when creating the Online Assignment. If you chose to have

the Online Assignment Auto Score, the options of Short Answer and Essay will not

be available.

• Copy from My Online Assignment Template – If you select this option, it allows

you to select an existing template that has been created. These Online Templates

are created by going to the Other Access tab in the Gradebook and selecting

Online Assignment Template. A benefit of using the Online Assignment Templates

is that the template is available in the next school year and you can also clone the

template to make modifications.

• Copy from District Online Assignment Template – This option allows you to use

a district defined assignment template when setting up the Online Assignment. You

have the ability to add and remove questions when using a District Online

Assignment Template.

• Attach District Assessment – If this option is selected, you can use a district

created assessment for the Online Assignment. Additional questions can be added to

the District Assessment, but no questions can be removed.

• Clone Online Assignment From Other Teacher – This option allows you to copy

another teacher’s Online Assignment and is available based upon the district

Gradebook setup.

When creating the Online Assignment, the Start/Stop Date and Time determine when

students will be able to access the assignment in Student Access.

After the assignment has been saved in the Gradebook, students will be able to complete

the Online Assignment according to the setup.

questions and remain on the Online Assignment screen.

• Save and Complete Later – This option will save the student’s answers and closes

the Online Assignment window. It does allow the student to come back into the

Online Assignment and finish it.
