We recognize and reflect the important notion that in order to increase diversity on our campus, we must make targeted, deliberate, and measurable efforts to create an environment that not only welcomes, but encourages a diverse population of people. In modern science research, academic success and scientific breakthrough rests on our utilization of multifaceted approaches and perspectives. By cultivating visible diversity, we believe that the exposure to a variety of ideas and collective experiences will foster creativity and relationships – enriching our academic environment and strengthen our scientific community as a whole.

REMEDY REMEDY is a group of inter-professional learners and researchers working to eliminate the wasteful disposal of unused medical and research supplies by redirecting these vital resources to various organizations and persons in need. Our program is a recovery system aimed at gathering unused, unexpired, and still-useful materials from the operating rooms, clinics, and research departments throughout OHSU. Rather than being discarded, these supplies are sorted and inventoried for use in our institution, our community, and abroad. Supplies recovered by Remedy will be made available to clinics in the Portland area, distributed to local health professionals traveling and providing care abroad, and donated to medical missions globally. The program is currently operated by OHSU students and researchers in partnership with OCTRI, the OHSU Global Health Center, the OHSU Green Team, and the PSU & OHSU IHI Open School Chapter.
