Harassment

• Unwelcome conduct or communication regarding a protected category that creates an objectively hostile employment, housing, education, public services, or public accommodation environment.

Title IX

• Title IX prohibits discrimination on the basis of sex in any federally funded program.

• According to the Department of Education, once a school knows or reasonably should know about sexual incident, including sexual assault, it is obligated to take immediate and effective steps to respond to the conduct.

Retaliation

• An adverse action taken against a covered individual because he/she complained of discrimination or harassment.• Adverse actions include: lowering grade, academic charges,

bad letter of recommendation, discipline, salary reduction, negative performance appraisal, change in job duties.
