Town Centre Master Plan

Property Owners within the Port Macquarie CBD pay a special levy for streetscape, landscaping and beautification works in the Port

Macquarie CBD. This levy was formally introduced in 1993 following collaboration between business owners and Council. Since February 2019 the Town Centre Master Plan Reserve has funded the following works:

Design for the redevelopment of the foreshore to achieve a continuous

promenade along our Town Centre foreshore, from Town Green East to Kooloonbung Creek Stage 1, and from the William Street pedestrian bridge to Westport Park. The programmed completion of the ‘shovel-ready design’ for all of these projects is June 2020.

Town Square Activation

The Port Macquarie Town Square includes full time broad pedestrian thoroughfares with amenities such as shade structures, seating and

modular plant boxes to add interest to these corridors.

The middle of the square accomodates car parking as a default use. During certain events, vehicles are exluded from this central area to allow it to also become part of a completely pedestrianized Town Square.
