PRESENTATION
Rarely do sailing yachts meet the reality and expectations of being "World Capable". "Xplore" is one
of those rare creations.
Designed by UK renowned naval architect David Thomas in conjunction with Bureau Vertitas, the
design brief was to create a world circumnavigating yacht that would safely and reliably go to the ends
of the earth, a Range Rover of the oceans.
With virtually no budget constraints, the best materials and equipment were brought together, and the
results, mile after mile have proven itself.
"Xplore" has been owned and run for 10 years by a professional mariner and sailor who's attention to
detail and maintenance standards, mean that "Xplore" is ready to continue great sailing adventures and
projects.
Expedition projects are what "Xplore" has done well, the right yacht, set up and professional can more
than pay its own way, but deliver excellent results, anywhere in the world.
"Xplore" comes with an existing website (http://www.xplore-expeditions.com/) marketing and social
media. There is an extensive and detailed new owner training period to ensure a smooth transition into
Xplore.
As a proven business operation for ten years, the yacht is fully equipped and prepared as a "Turn Key"
platform that will take you to your dream places and pay for it.
GENERAL DESCRIPTION
Designed for ocean sailing and fine tuned for high latitudes and even polar regions, "Xplore's"
accommodation of 6 separate cabins can house up to 14 people. The separate living spaces within the
yacht mean that on longer extended voyages or projects, people can find their own space to work, live
and relax.

STRUCTURE & COATING
"Xplore" was designed to be exceptionally strong, built in the highest qualities of steels in order to
face what any ocean might throw at it with absolute confidence.
STRUCTURE
The hull is constructed of high tensile steel shell plating over “T” bar longitudinal and angle ring
frames, deck and coach house are in 316 stainless steel, reducing maintenance to a minimum.
Deck entry cuddy / dodger is custom designed in fibreglass and built giving full visibility,
polycarbonate windows and rear closing clear plastic flap for easy entry, a perfect place when the
weather is tougher, electronic controls at hand and easy access on deck.
A full depth skeg with Ertalite rudder bearings provide effortless steering for the steel rudder with
direct chain / cable connection to the quadrant, substantial engineering ensures absolute reliability.
Keel design, the moderate fin keel, constructed in cast iron gives moderate draft (2.85m) and excellent
sailing performance from the hydrodynamic design.
"Xplore" is being slipped in Europe for general maintenance and antifouling in May 2017.

quiet and comfortable.
Survey and Standards
Bureau Vertitas continues as the survey and standards authority, 2015 "Xplore" had the 5 year major
out of water survey including hull plating testing, shaft removal, 2016 annual survey in water and
"Xplore" is due its 2017 survey mid year.
ACCOMODATION & INTERIOR
Inside, Maple hull liners and Afrormosia solid timber trim are highlighted by the white bulkheads and

crew as practically possible, even in extreme conditions. The deck hatches are defended from wave
action by plinths. Dorade vents keep the accommodation well ventilated even in extreme conditions.
The aft cockpit is particularly comfortable and the central cockpit ideal for entertaining.
The deck equipment was selected and custom designed for efficiency, robustness and ease of
maintenance. All the equipment used fully justified its selection and remains in excellent condition.
