Explain the basic structure and classification of carbohydrates

Discuss the various natural and artificial sweetners commonly

used in food products

Explain the Role of Carbohydrates in the Body

Describe the Glycemic Index and Glycemic Load and their impact on health and performance

Reading – Read Chapter 3: Carbohydrates in course text prior to seminar on Thursday.

Discussion Board – Post initial post by Saturday and a total of 3 posts by Tuesday.

Seminar – Attend seminar Thursday at 8:00pm or submit option 2 no later than Tuesday.

Final Project –Unit 3 Addition – Review and complete Unit 3 project in your syllabus. Project needs to be submitted by Tuesday.
