Norms and Rules

Public Kindergarten No 5

in Glogow

Our motto:„Wonderfull childhood – Wonderfull life”

• Upbringing – is complex and long process. Upbringing – is love and an example. Upbringing is – kind of art, where sense of need of a moment, circumstances, place and time play a very important role. When upbringing a child one needs to raise real problems of kids but also set norms and rules which should be consequently executed.

• Therefore teachers groups using „Laws and Duties of a Child” (Legal basis: - Declaration of the Rights of the Child passed by the General Assembly of the UN on 20th November 1959 - Convention on the Rights of the Child passed by the General Assembly of the UN on 20th November 1989, in Poland it is in force from 7th June 1991 ( Journal of Laws of 1991, no 120, item.526) and Declaration of Laws and Duties of Parents in agreement with parents and kids establish at the beginning of a school year sets norms and rules valid in groups.

3-years-olds

• In the youngest group of children at the beginning of a school year have couple of deals which they sign themselves by painting their hands and reflecting them on paper.

• 4-year-olds hang their agreements on the door. Porky has them pinned on balloons.

• Teachers are discipline kids by showing them a norm.

5-years-olds5-year-olds conclude a group contract. After setting the

norms they are find their names among others and put them up as a sign of acceptation the rules.

6-years-olds

• Group of 6-year-olds having brainstormed what the sentence „I’m a polite kid” means to them, prepare “The code of behavior of a polite kid”.

• Kids themselves signed the code with their names.

Other place

• In the kindergarten we use „dry swimming pool”. All the kids relax here. The swimming pool is put in the cloakroom. Kids make use of it in the presence of parents or teachers. To provide security, everyone is obliged to follow certain rules of behaviour. The rules were arrange by kids and teachers and were later presented to parents. Now they are hanged on the board.

And that’s how we play in the „swimming pool”

Trips

• Right before every walk or trip teachers remind kids how they should behave in garden, in forest, or during street walks, etc.

• Teachers should also follow the „Work Regulation” and „The Rules for organizing trips and walks”
