Biography/Autobiography

• Narrative of a person's life. A true story about a real person.

• Biography – 3rd Person (He, She, They)

• Autobiography – 1st Person (I, We)

Memoir/Diary• Memoir- A collection of memories that an

individual writes about that took place in their life.

• Diary- a book in which one keeps a daily record of events and experiences. – Diary of a Wimpy Kid is fiction…Anne Frank is real

What’s the difference??? A diary is a record of (unrelated) events in one's life. A memoir selects specific events or scenes and weaves them into a story.
