Northwest School Scholarships and Special Awards
CALEB DORR SCHOLARSHIP AWARDS-During the present year, 1926-1927, two scholarships of Seventy·five Dol· lars each and eight of Forty Dollars each were awarded for leadership in Boys' and Girls' club work.
On Commencement Day six scholarships of Twenty·five Dollars each will be awarded to students who have shown marked progress in their work. A leadership scholarship of Seventy-five Dollars, available for next school term, will be awarded on basis of highest leadership record. In addition awards will be made for the best home project by a boy and by a girl; best declamation given by a student for each of the five student literary societies; to the six members of the Inter· School debating teams; and to three students who have made most progress in music.
LOAN FUNDS-The class of 1917 has provided $140 and the Fairfax·Andover Social Club has provided $150 to be used as a students' loan fund. The Northwest School faculty also proYided a scholarship and loan fund.
SELVIG DEBATING TROPHY-The 1927 debate resulted in a tie between the Pioneer and Lincoln teams.
INTER-SCHOOL DEBATE TEAMS-The members 01 these teams are: Elmer Anderson, Clearbrook; Carl Widseth, Gonvick; Otto Saugen, Thief River Falls; Ann Radniecki, Wanke; Mabel Fletcher, Bagley, and Irma Hoppe, Crookston.
