Communicating with the University

• Entering students will receive their WFU username and password in June.

• Please go online to check your WFU email, which is run through Gmail.

– Log onto Wake Information Network (WIN) to change your password to something you remember.

• Please check your email regularly throughout the summer, as it will be the University’s primary means to send you important information!

Orientation• For complete information

pertaining to orientation, please visit the University’s website .

• New student orientation is an exciting time for both students and parents.

• New students generally move in about six days before the first day of class. Parents may stay for the first two days of orientation.

– Laptops are replaced before the start of your junior year.

• Academic advising– Each new student is assigned a faculty and a student advisor

who help guide the new student through the course planning process.

Residence Hall Living• The majority of the freshmen

dorms are hall style – you will share a room with one roommate, and your room is part of a common hall.

• It’s a great way to meet new people, make friends and learn together!

• Each hall has a dedicated Residential Advisor (RA) who is a specially-trained upperclassman that helps guide freshmen through their first year.

South Hall – WFU’s newest and most advanced residence hall.

Campus Dining• Information on University dining may be found on their

website. • Dining Services employs a nutritionist who can meet with

individual students to discuss meal options to meet the student’s needs (gaining or losing weight, etc).

• Birthday cakes can be ordered and sent to students through Dining Services! A little love from home is always appreciated!

Campus Safety• Wake Forest University

prides itself on being a safe place to live and learn.

• The campus is closed to the public from 10pm-6am, and a WFU I.D. card is required to enter during that time.

• WFU has its own autonomous, accredited police force that is available to help 24/7.
