Definition of NAVWAR

•  NAVWAR is a NATO-activity defined in STANAG 4621 :

NAVWAR is defined as preventing the hostile use of PNT information while protecting the unimpeded use of the information by NATO forces and preserving peaceful use of this information outside the area of operations.

•  Several other NATO documents now deals with NAVWAR

Exercise Unified Vision 2012

•  UV12 is a Joint Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (JISR) trial scheduled for 18-29 June 2012 at Orland Main Air Station, in Brekstad, Norway.

•  Demonstration to provide validation for the NATO ISR Interoperability Architecture ability to deliver JISR to the warfighters and decision-makers

•  Integrated tasking, collection, processing, exploitation and dissemination of multiple intelligence domains

•  Ability to collaborate to provide a feed back mechanism •  Adaptation and expansion of existing tools and standards

Be aware of navigation jamming!

A collegue, late at night, with impaired hearing after many concerned telephone calls related to the tests, stated: ”We can simply go home right away. Our forces are alerted and have realized that navigation jamming is a real threat. Objectives achieved even before we have pushed the ON-button!”
