Hyperlinks

Hyperlinks allow you to navigate around your PowerPoint easily by picking which slide you want to go to.

You have to apply the hyperlink to something on your menu to make it work.

Hyperlinks 2

To attach a Hyperlink to something on your page, select the object/text, and right click on it.

Now choose “Hyperlink” from the menu.

Hyperlinks 3

Now choose what slide you want to go to from the selection box.

From the “Insert Hyperlink” dialogue box that appears, choose “Place in this Document” on the left.

Navigation Buttons

Navigation Buttons are very like Hyperlinks, but they are their own object with the link automatically attached.

To attach a button select the “Slide Show” menu and choose “Action Buttons”.

Navigation Buttons 2

From the “Action Buttons” fold out selection box, choose the button type you want to use.

When you move your mouse over each button, an explanation of what each one is will appear.

Navigation Buttons 3When you choose your button, the menu will disappear. As you move your mouse onto the slide, your pointer will change to a cross to allow you to draw the button where you want it, and as big as you want it.

Drag to outline your button and when you release the mouse button, the “Action Settings” dialogue box will appear.

Navigation Buttons 4

You then choose what action you want the button to perform from the selections and drop down menus that are on the form.

Page Control

To make your PowerPoint use only the page controls that you want, you have to turn off automatic page progression.

This will make your page controls very important.

Page Control 2
