MAINSTREAMING CLIMATE CHANGE EXAMPLES Establishing screening procedures for climate change impactse.g. Environmental impact assessments (EIAs) and risk assessment of proposed project e.g. Agro Parks and other enterprises
Incorporating natural resource valuation tools and methodologies into decision-making process for planning approval e.g. Development Orders, Policy Reviews, EIA process;
Reviewing and enforcing building codes, setback limits, standards and guidelines for developments. e.g. policy review - reform zoning plans including ‘no-build’ zones;

MAINSTREAMING CLIMATE CHANGE CONT. Expanding and strengthening monitoring and data collection to facilitate decision making e.g. vulnerability assessments;
Promotion and facilitation of a national assessment of coastal areas; of coastal and fishery resources at risk; agroforestry opportunities; and of climate services for agriculture
Creating and conserving marine and terrestrial protected areas increase resiliency of ecosystems; increase security of agricultural & fisheries systems
Identifying measures to restore natural systems such as coastal wetlands as a defence to storm surges.
