What They Do

A Marine/Naval Architect designs and oversees the construction and repair of marine craft such as ships, barges, tugs, and dredges. They also have the same involvement in underwater craft such as submarines and torpedoes, and surface devices like buoys and floats.

Skills Needed

A person in this career must have good communication skills to discuss designs and ideas. They must also have good mechanical skills for computers and machines. People in this job may have to lift up to 20 lbs. so good physical condition is required.

Basic Skills

A marine/naval architect must be proficient in reading comprehension, active listening, writing, speaking, mathematics, science, critical thinking, active learning, and monitoring.

Interests and Values

A person interested in this career should have work interests including investigative and realistic. He should also have work values that include achievement and independence.

Education and Requirements

If I were to take this job, I would need to finish high school and get a bachelor’s degree in Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering. Most states require all architects to have a license.

A forestry worker should have work interests including investigative and realistic. Their work values should include support and achievement.

Education and Requirements

If I were to take this job, I would need to finish high school, and get on-the-job training from a supervisor.

In Conclusion

Both of these jobs would be great and they seem to fit my person, but I really just want to win the lottery and live the rest of my life in luxury.
