While I think that it is certainly possible there is a hidden message in this song I dislike the way most of it was interpreted especially the gun to his head part. If I were going to put it into terms of a "coming out" song I would see that as the actual coming out, killing his heterosexual life and showing his true self to "mama"( Mary Austin )
