According to Ahmad Dahlan, there are three basics value of education:

1.Education of behaviour (Pendidikan Akhlak) : Building humans’ character based on the Quran and Sunnah

2. Education of Individual (Pendidikan Individu) : Building the awareness of the importance to balance between mental and body, the certainty and the intellectual, feeling and brain, the world and the hereafter.

3. Social Education: Building the willingness to live in society.

As the ‘giant of education’, Muhammadiyah has 9.500 education institution starting from kindergarten till university.

One special feature owned by Muhammadiyah is additional curriculum focuses on Islamic subjects, such as Aqidah Akhlaq, Ibadah/Mu’ammalah, Al-Qur’an Hadits, Sejarah Kebudayaan Islam, Kemuhammadiyahan.

was weak and the western education system implemented by colonials dominated in Indonesia.

The model of education owned by Islam community was Islamic boarding school.

Muhammadiyah combines the two models of education systems to be applied in Muhammadiyah school in Indonesia.

Society accept the existence of Muhammadiyah in Education.

There are many schools (public and boarding school) under Muhammadiyah’s Institution.
