EXECUTIVE PRINCIPAL’S MESSAGE Yaama
2016 SCHOOL CAPTAINS SPEECHES
On Friday 20th November, ten Year 5 students addressed their peers and staff
in a bid to win their vote in an election process for the 2016 School Captaincy.
All ten speeches were delivered by the students with pride and confidence.
The speeches were truly inspiring as our schools future leaders acknowledged
their personal qualities and skills that would enable them to uphold the school
rules, be a role model and support the strong family spirit that exists within
our school.
The five girls were, Breanna Williams, Ashley Hughes, Janaya Hinch, Cahaylee
O’Toole and Shakila Fernando. The five boys were, Cody Picker, Blake Hunt,
Christopher Hona, Jermaine Smith and Michael Leslie.
All students, from Kindergarten to Year 6, are to be congratulated for their
tentative listening to each and every one of the individual student messages.
Well done to all students who delivered their speeches. It is going to be a
tough and close election as the quality of the speeches has certainly made it
hard to choose just two students who will be the 2016 school leaders.
SCHOOL ANNUAL PRESENTATION
On Thursday 10th December, the Moree East Public School, Annual School
Presentation will take place in the school hall at 9am.
Presentation Day is a celebration of the success and achievement of students,
so please do your best to attend to support and congratulate those students
who have earned an award.
The 2016 School Captains will also be announced on this day.
The parents of the students who will be receiving an award will be informed
and a special invite will be given to the parents of our 2016 Captains and Vice
Captains.
Morning tea will be provided thereafter for our attending visitors.

SISTERS’ DAY OUT!!
On Friday 4th December the Sister’s Group embarked on trip to Inverell to do some
Christmas shopping .
The close friendships made the day a memorable one with lots of yarning, laughter
and shopping.
The Sisters’ meet every Wednesday and Friday in the community Room at Moree
East Public School commencing at 10am. New members are warmly welcomed.
Week 8 this term seen the majority of MEPS participate in our annual swimming school.
A big congratulations needs to go to all the students that participated this year. Students
were organised and ready to learn
every day when we were at the
Moree Artesian Aquatic Centre and
were rewarded on the Friday with
some slide time- which was very
enjoyable for both students and
staff! A massive thank you needs to
go to all of the staff members (at
school and at the pool) for their
commitment to teaching our
students to become better
swimmers. Hopefully everyone has
had a good rest and can enjoy the remainder of the school year. All going well, we will
have our swimming school at a similar time next year.
Happy swimming!
Regards,
Miss Kirstie McDonnell
Swimming Coordinator
