The first day of sum-mer is June 21st but the weather feels otherwise. It is so nice to stroll around the building and see the trees so green, the flower gardens in bloom and the birds and squirrels eating out of the feeders. What a beautiful time of the year! Father’s Day is Sun-day, June 16th. We will be having Donuts for dads at 10am on Saturday, June 15th for all the men at Oakleaf Village. We are so grateful for all the fathers, grandfathers, uncles and male role models that live in our community and we want to honor you. On the first day of summer, Friday, June 21st, we will be going to Olander Park for a picnic and fish-ing. We will provide the worms, poles and lunch, you just need to sign up at the front desk and join us. Olander is a beautiful park in Sylvania with a lake, a walking path, picnic tables & park benches. There are lots of ducks to watch and a unique musical area where we will eat lunch. It
is a great way to spend the day! It was such a cold winter and a rainy spring, take advantage of the out doors when you can! We are playing quite a few out door games this month.
Bocce Ball, Ladder Ball & Horseshoes. Join in on our Resident Garden Party where we will go outside and meet by the residents raised gardens. You can meet the gardeners and check out their hard work while enjoying lemonade. Every Tuesday evening at 8pm we go outside on the patio by the large dining
room and solve all of the world problems. We are having other socials out there as well like ice cram bars on the patio and the bereavement group will be meeting out there for smores and reminisce about trips they have tak-en with their loved ones who have passed. Please see the activity calendar for dates and times. If a group activity is not your cup of tea, feel free to walk around the building, sit on the bench and read or have a seat out front and people watch as they walk by. Which ev-er you choose to do, be sure to take time out of your day to get outside, take a deep breath and get some fresh air and sun-shine!

We feel very honored
that many residents invite their
friends and family to dine with
them at Oakleaf. We are always
happy to accommodate a guest
of yours at lunch or dinner.
We do ask that you
would kindly notify Jim, Dietary
Director, or Valerie, Dining Room
Supervisor, of any guests invites
with at least 24 hours advance
notice. This not only helps to en-
sure that you and your guests
experience the best possible ser-
vice but also helps us to plan the
proper meal count for all resi-
dents.
It is recommended that guests
attend the 4:00pm dinner seat-
ing. The environment at this din-
ner time can accommodate
guests more comfortably.
Please note that a guest
charge will be added to your bill
and can be paid with your
monthly rent. The charge will be
dated and clearly stated on your
statement. Cash is not accepted
for guest meal charges.
As always, please come
see me if you have any ques-
tions, concerns, or any ideas.
