Ultimate Objective
To achieve, in accordance with therelevant provisions of the Convention,
stabilization of greenhouse gasconcentrations in the atmosphere at a
level that would prevent dangerousanthropogenic interference with the
climate system. Such a level should beachieved within atime-frame sufficient to
allow ecosystems to adapt naturally toclimate change, to ensure thatfood
production is not threatenedand toenable economic development to
proceed in a sustainable manner.
