• Common among children and teens

• Try to avoid situations that make them feel anxious or fearful

• Examples:• Phobias• OCD – Obsessive

Stress Disorder• GAD – Generalized

Eating Disorders

• Leads to unhealthful weight loss and death

• Commonly occur during the teen years

• Puberty, body changes, and media cause some teens to put pressure on themselves to look a certain way

• Common among girls but affect boys, too

• Examples:• Bingeing• Anorexia Nervosa• Bulimia Nervosa

Mood Disorders

• An illness that involves mood extremes that interfere with everyday living

• Extreme mood change, energy levels, and behavior

• Examples:• Depression• Bipolar Disorder• SAD – Seasonal

Affective Disorder

Conduct Disorders

• Patterns of behavior in which the rights of others or basic social rules are violated

• Examples:• Stealing• Cruelty• Lying• Aggression• Violence• Truancy• Arson• vandalism

Personality Disorders

• A disorder in which a person loses contact with reality

• Symptoms include delusions and hallucinations

• Examples:• Schizophrenia• Paranoia• Multiple Personality
