i n t r o D u C t i o n

For centuries Germany has had a vivid pool of creative minds that have been influential in the arts, sciences, literature and fashion’s global community. Before Berlin rose to stardom as a magnet for creatives around the world, German fashion design talents were sprinkled throughout a country still in need of a proper fashion headquarter. Affordable space, enig-matic club culture and the artistic zeitgeist on offer in Berlin however, soon drew worldwide attention to this raw gem and, in turn, the city now boasts an exciting portfolio of new and daring designers. Berlin’s uninhibited and unyielding spirit enables designers to let their aesthetic minds run wild and carefree, while other fixed German traits such as dedication to crafts manship, efficiency and reliability create a persuasive business model that will surely outlive the lifespan of fashion’s shooting stars. To enable young and promising labels to showcase their designs beyond limiting national borders is a generous and noble enterprise of countries that are proud of their aspiring talents. With the initiation of Berlin Showroom by Projekt Zukunft, the German capitol joins the ranks of well-known fashion metropolises such as Paris, Milan and New York. Take more than a glance at this year’s German men’s wear designers. Let them inspire you and join in on the fun that fashion creates. Let’s be proud of our upcoming artists.
